KABS Mission
Our mission is to promote awareness throughout communities that bullying is a serious problem in our schools today. No county or state is exempt from this phenomenon. Our members pledge to work together to identify and report the problem of bullying so that no child has to live in fear of tomorrow.

Our website in Spanish!
We put a plea out there for the world on Facebook asking for someone who knew how to speak Spanish, and could translate our website. Luckily for us, Cynthia Martin-Bridges of West Carteret High School located in Morehead City, NC, heard our plea, and stepped up to the plate!
Her Spanish 4 class begins in February 2011, and as a class project, they will be translating some of our website pages into Spanish. KUDOS to West Carteret Spanish 4 Class!!!!

To ALL WHO ARE IN THE SCHOOL SYSTEM, KABS is NOT about placing all of the fault on 'schools'. Schools are simply where most kids spend the majority of time, and where most bullying takes place. KABS is about standing up and saying saying "enough is enough", and promising that we will not stand by watch bullies tear others down. PLEASE ACCEPT MY APOLOGIES if the name of our organization has offended anyone in our school system.
Furthermore, I would like to make it clear, that the Carteret County Board of Education has not, in any way, shape or form, endorsed KABS. Our Superintendent agreed to come and speak at our event, and that is all of the involvement of the Carteret County Board of Education. Please accept my apologies for any concern or confusion that this may have caused with our school board administration, staff, teachers or principals.

Bullying is not just a problem in our schools. It does happen at school, but it also happens on school buses, ball games, rec ball, churches, clubs, organizations, neighborhoods, everywhere in our community.
Let's all band together as a community, and state that we PROMISE that we will not stand for bullying. Anywhere.
